Your role and responsibilities
- In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for local import/export operations. Each day, you will supervise performance of customs brokers. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring smooth execution of operational trade and customs activities within a local unit, including relevant documentation and compliance with regulations.
- The work model for the role is: Onsite
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Acting as point of contact for customs brokers in case of clarification needs (e.g., regarding evaluation or classification of products).
- Audit customs brokers regarding the correctness of customs entries, invoicing
- Managing the necessary documentation and online forms for the efficient, cost-effective, and lawful execution of all import/export activities.
- Maintaining and sharing with colleagues, as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant import/export laws and procedures, tariffs, duties, licenses, and restrictions.
- Uses various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning and scheduling. Customs and trade applications.
- Prepares and updates monthly logistics schedule to ensure deliveries to customer locations and coordinates product delivery schedule with project / sales team.
- Coordinates daily to track location and movement of finished goods and raw materials via all transport modes ,re-routes freight as needed to meet demands and minimize cost.
- Works closely with transport service providers and brokers to assure efficient, cost-effective execution of business requirements, obtaining necessary transport permits and codes, prepares transportation paperwork for import and export.
- Fulfils shipping, packing, and advises on marking procedures per project requirements in compliance with governmental regulations.
- Data management Supports the development and implementation of improved processes and systems and maintains master data when required.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelors Degree or National Diploma in Transport or Logistics management
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Familiar with working on SAP & BOL
- Strong knowledge of transport planning and order handling process.
- Must be a team player, customer oriented and an ability to perform under pressure
- Solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
- Microsoft office experience essential for role
