As a Superintendent: Instrumentation, you will be responsible for:
- Facilitate daily meetings with the team to plan, manage, and delegate work
- Plan and ensure timeous procurement of spares
- Track all labour hire timekeeping and authorize before submitting to the engineer for payment
- Manage contractors and all resources during shutdowns
- Manage artisan standby roster and ensure personnel are available for standby
- Manage safety within the section by completing PPE and toolbox inspections, actively participating in the SHEQ process, and participating in SHEQ Audits
- Ensure that all maintenance work is done and managed in support of the factory maintenance strategy.
- Meet with the engineer daily to ensure priorities are set for the day and week
- Deploy labour to attend to breakdowns
- Manage workshop budget for consumables
- Complete on-site inspections to monitor progress of jobs and standard adherence
- Perform inspections on jobs to ensure quality work is completed
- Ensure that the Plant modification system is adhered to when requested to effect any changes to plant or machinery
- Ensure that housekeeping in workshops and oil stores is maintained
- Manage Calibration equipment, specialist tools, and consumables store
- Ensure that all procurement is done in accordance with company policies (quotes, etc.)
- Overinspect all work done by contractors to ensure quality and value
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis sessions as and when required
- Complete overtime and standby as required
- Ensure that all SAP administration is maintained as per the roles and responsibilities matrix, and ensure office administration is maintained and kept up to date
- Implement Preventitive Maintenace Stategies to increase Uptime of plants
- High level Instrumentation DCS System Support (Profinet/Profibus/Hart)
- Effective Shutdown Planning
- Ensure Critical spares stock is maintained on SAP to mitigate plant risks
What are we looking for?
- NQF level 4 qualification (Grade 12/N3) with a recognised trade test certificate
- 5 years post-trade test experience within a heavy industry environment
- Supervisory experience as well as experience on SAP will be considered advantageous
