Job Description
- Are you a highly organized and motivated individual with a passion for inventory and logistics? A leading player in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Stores Team Leader to take charge of their stores operations and ensure the efficient management of stock, staff, and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the stores department, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of materials.
- Ensure accurate stock control, regular cycle counts, and full stock takes.
- Implement and maintain inventory management systems and ensure proper documentation of all stock movements.
- Lead and manage the stores team, ensuring optimal performance, training, and compliance with safety procedures.
- Liaise with procurement, production, and logistics to ensure smooth workflow and availability of materials.
- Monitor and maintain housekeeping standards, ensuring that the store is clean, safe, and well-organized.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential; a tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehousing is advantageous.
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven team leadership experience and ability to manage people effectively.
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, ERP systems).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- A hands-on approach with a strong commitment to health and safety.
