Minimum Requirements:

  • B Degree/ B Tech in Civil Engineering/ NQF 7 equivalent
  • Professional registration (Grad. Eng) / Registered with ECSA
  • Applicable driver’s licence
  • Computer literacy
  • 3 years’ experience in water demand management/ water conservation environment

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and policy advice on and implement Water Conservation and Water Demand Management activities
  • Plan, implement and monitor Water Conservation and Water Demand Management projects
  • Contribute and ensure reduction of Non-Revenue Water and management of municipal Water Demand
  • Adapt to and implement changes in Water Conservation and Water Demand Management strategy and business plans, laws, regulations relevant to the industry practices
  • Prepare, advise and comment on engineering policies as required to various stakeholders
  • Effectively allocate and utilise resources in order to perform contracted work outputs and meet identified objectives
  • Monitor external information and ensure efficient knowledge of related acts, regulations and regulatory framework and implement accordingly
  • Compile and analyse water balance and report on operational plans that demonstrate achievements against targets and improvements
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual budgets and financial reports in accordance with statutory and council presenting requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and internal and external stakeholders that promote cross functional process delivery solutions
