Purpose of the job
- To ensure the Clothing department is neat, well-merchandised, and customer-ready by replenishing stock, maintaining visual standards, supporting fitting room routines, and providing helpful customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising & Standards+A15:A48
- Pack, hang, fold and size merchandise according to VM and divisional standards.
- Maintain neatness of shelves, rails, tables, and fitting rooms.
- Ensure promotional displays and signage are accurate.
Stock Handling
- Replenish sales floor from backup stock promptly.
- Assist with receiving stock deliveries and checking items.
- Rotate stock to ensure older merchandise is sold first.
- Remove and report damaged, faulty or ticketless stock.
Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
- Help customers locate sizes, styles and products.
- Direct more complex customer queries to Supervisor/Manager.
Shrinkage & Security
- Follow fitting room procedures (item counts in/out).
- Handle merchandise carefully to prevent damage.
- Report suspicious behaviour or security concerns to Supervisor/Manager.
Hygiene & Housekeeping
- Keep floor, fitting rooms and backup areas clean and tidy.
- Organise hangers, size cubes and tickets neatly.
- Adhere to health, safety and housekeeping standards.
Key Relationships
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10/12 (Matric preferred).
- Previous retail or customer service experience advantageous.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
