Description

  • Co-ordinates and contributes towards projects by compiling and executing technical project activity plans.
  • Identifies the need for human resources in project(s) and manages the allocated resources.
  • Plans and co-ordinates own and technical project work activities.
  • Independently conducts research/technical support, diagnostics, and other services within a project.
  • Collects, captures, processes and interprets technical data and makes internal project recommendations.
  • Compiles detailed technical reports and submitted for approval.
  • Recommends new technologies to be optimized.
  • Renders diagnostic, technical and other services at a national level.
  • Develops technical capacity at an appropriate level.
  • Identifies and participates in own learning opportunities.
  • Assists with identifying new business opportunities.
  • Participates in the project in a learning capacity and supervises as delegated.
  • Assists with compiling & managing the project budget.
  • Manages project facilities, material and equipment.
  • Ensures optimal utilisation of resources.

Requirements

  • MSc in Agronomy, Plant Production, Plant Breeding, or a related field, with at least 2 years of relevant experience; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree / Honours Degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience; OR
  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6), with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in production planning and management, including irrigation management, weed control, and mechanization.
  • Experience with potato production will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to provide diagnostic, technical, and related services.
  • Excellent computer literacy.
