Senior Project Manager at Durban University of Technology

Minimum Requirements:

• NQF Level 7 qualification in Project Management / Built Environment / Engineering or other related field.
• A Professional Project Management certification or PrCPM with SACPMP or PR Eng, PR Tech Eng with ECSA.
• Seven years’ experience in a project management environment.
• Five years’ experience in the specialized area of qualification.

Key responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains a basic understanding of relevant project management related policies, frameworks, procedures, plans and systems as relevant to processes.
• Understanding the sustainability within project environment
• Develops and applies criteria to determine whether initiatives should be registered as projects.
• Acts as a reference point for project management queries and information and an advocate for best practices in project management.
• Assists and advises relevant internal stakeholders, and teams to the best use of project management disciplines and approaches.
• Undertakes other duties or manage certain projects which may arise or as may be delegated from time to time.

• Prepares and submits reports/statistics of work undertaken reports to various structures as required, in accordance with the reporting schedule.
• Compiling budget for the area of responsibility.
• Report on and manage budget expenditure and movements
• Identify the deliverables in accordance with a formulated project plan to determine the resource requirements in terms of availability and competence.
• Select staff and allocate to the identified areas of responsibility.
