Semi-Skilled Spraypainter at Unitrans

Job Advert Summary    

• An opportunity has arisen for a Semi-Skilled Spraypainter who prepares surfaces by sanding/cleaning and applies undercoats/final coats with a brush and/or roller.
• Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures of buildings and other structures.
• Selects premixed paints or mixes required portions of pigment, oil and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colours.

Minimum Requirements    

• Matric/ NQ4 Level 4
• Higher Certificate / NQF level 5
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience as Semi-Skilled Spraypainter working with vehicles 
• Adhere to safe working procedures
• Colour matching skills
• Able to operate spraypainting equipment
• Able to apply paint evenly
• Ability to work under pressure

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Clean and prepare jobs
• Spray painting trailers and trucks
• Use of paint systems
• Lifting and turning of jobs
• General housekeeping
• General assistance
• Repair minor accident damage to OM spec
• Ensure all spraypainting equipment is cleaned after use
• Carry out repairs to tautliner trailer curtains and roofs
• Operating of electrical tool and equipment
• Minor mechanical repairs
