Rock Breaker Operator (B1) at Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine

• Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometers from Lydenburg and 40 kilometers from Burgersfort, and is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore.
• The successful applicant will report to the Miner or nominee.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10/ Standard 8 Certificate.

EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

• Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
• Advantageous: 6 months practical experience as a Competent Operator on Rock Breaker and Tip Attending

DUTIES (including but not limited to):

• To safely operate the Rock Breaker within a designated area and in accordance with set operating standards in order to achieve set production requirements.
• Operate the Rock Breaker to achieve production requirements. Continuously observe/monitor component performance against standards and procedures to identify any sub performance / non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor and Control Room.
• Do pre-shift inspection of machines, machine parts, and/or components of the production line to ensure production flow according to standards within prescribed processes and procedures.
• Lock-out procedure to be followed when equipment is faulty and at end of the shift, including failure time recorded.
• Control tipping by LHDs to ensure tip is not overloaded and ensure safe operation of LHD machine in the tipping area using a robot system.
• Cleaning around tip area and tail pulley to ensure safe operation and to prevent any damage to the belt and fellow employees.
