The Desmond Tutu Health Foundation is currently recruiting for an experienced Grants Finance Officer to ensure smooth financial administration and end-to-end management of projects and grants, and provide financial administration support to Project Leaders and on-site clinical research staff.

- The main purpose of this position is to perform clinical procedures on research participants according to protocol requirements and Good Clinical Practices.
Job Requirements
- Nursing Degree/Diploma equal to NQF 7 qualification
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Minimum of 1year experience in a similar role in clinical drug trials
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice with a valid GCP certificate
- Ability to speak English and Xhosa/Afrikaans
- Highly functional computer Literate (Proficiency in Ms Excel, Ms Word, Ms Office package)
- Having excellent organizational ability and written and oral communication skills.

- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel independently between public clinic facilities
Responsibilities:
- Perform all clinical observations and procedures as required by research protocols, including phlebotomy on children and adults.
- Perform all activities according to Good Clinical Practice Standards
- Transcribe research data into case report forms as needed
- Assist Medical Officer with procedures
- Advise and guide participant on basic medical conditions
- Availability to work over time when required
- Complete all administration requirements including informing Study Coordinators of daily clinic progress and maintaining participant records
- Assist with quality control requirements
- Assist in inventory, ordering and equipment management
