The role
- Provides technical support in mechanical maintenance of Sandvik equipment to achieve a high level of equipment reliability, availability, cost efficiency and performance.
Key Performance Areas
- Follow instructions of work within time constraints to meet established delivery targets.
- Adjust equipment and repairs/replaces defective parts components or systems per instructions.
- Inspect equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctions.
- Identify additional repairs, compiles parts and labour estimates.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Stays current with industry, customer and product developments and technical best practices.
Profile Required:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
- Trade Certificate of Competence – Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrical, Millwright accompanied by proof of apprenticeship modules or apprenticeship contract
- 4 years’ experience with mechanised mining equipment
- Experience on maintaining earth moving equipment
- Knowledge of Sandvik underground product line
- Understanding of engineering drawings Sandvik product manuals and schematics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent report writing skills
- Attention to detail
- English literacy
- Computer literacy
- Valid driver license
