Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing Planning and Development

  • Annually reviews the success of the marketing plans and provides recommendations as to potential adjustments in direction based on internal and external environmental influences.
  • Contributes to the structuring and development of the annual marketing and communication plans which are reviewed annually.
  • Develops and implements the Advertising and Promotions plans to align to the overall brand strategy and brand identity.
  • Agrees on a plan to implement the marketing and communications processes with the marketing suppliers (WRT advertising and promotions functions of those suppliers).
  • Develops an action plan that addresses goals and specifies objectives and work plans on an annual basis.
  • Analyses advertising trends, developments and competitor activity and makes recommendations to the Head of Marketing accordingly.
  • Works with the Head of Marketing to explore and source potential means to grow or broaden focus areas for advertising and promotions platforms or activities.
  • Monitors the competitive landscape for such opportunities and evaluates to ascertain the brands capacity or willingness to take further.
  • Marketing and Portfolio Results Management
  • Works with the Sales Managers to ensure that advertising activities are aligned and coordinated with sales activities and needs, adjusting where necessary for short term objectives.
  • Works with marketing team to evaluate all communications outputs for consistency of brand identity.
  • Evaluates all paid media campaigns (i.e. eventing, sponsorships, traditional, digital and social) and promotional collateral and activities to ensure optimal impact and efficiencies.

Communications Management

  • Communicate marketing plans to the campus and senior portfolio teams to ensure an understanding of communication and marketing goals and requirements.
  • Ensures adequate clarification of campaigns and objectives of advertising to Campus Heads/Navigators and sales teams, National Emeris team and SPT team. Communicates relevant brand(s) information to marketing suppliers and stakeholders on campaign impact on performance and brand feedback

Brand Management

  • Works to support the overall Brand and corporate identity to ensure alignment to the brand identity and strategy.
  • Reviews branded advertising and brand collateral and makes updates and amendments where applicable.
  • Works with suppliers and internal Studio to achieve consistent application of the brand for internal and external communications from a design perspective.
  • Rolls out standards and branding management requirements across campuses.
  • Delivers the committed leads and revenue targets.

Supplier Management

  • Manages suppliers of advertising and media services and promotions and design suppliers to support and actualize the marketing and communications plans.
  • Develops the scope of work across all suppliers and traffics work in progress, managing deadlines

Budget Management and Reporting

  • Monitoring of achievement of scope of work and budget.
  • Develops the Advertising and Promotions annual budget.
  • Monitoring and forecasting of monthly budget allocations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Advanced Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Marketing, Communications, or Branding. Postgraduate qualification (NQF 8) advantageous.
  • 8–10 years’ experience as a Senior Brand Manager or Marketing Manager, ideally in FMCG or a fast-paced sector.
  • Strong expertise in strategic marketing, digital channels, and portfolio management.
  • A self-starter with leadership ability, creativity, and strong analytical skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License (essential).
