Job Description
- Media24’s Media Division is seeking an experienced Management Accountant. In this role you will be required to provide accurate and timely financial and accounting information to business unit managers to provide them with the basis to make informed business decisions.
- This role will work across the areas of News both Digital and Print, Magazines, Content Marketing and Services.
- This role is onsite and based at our Cape Town office and reports into the Financial Manager.
What You’ll Do
- Perform monthly financial reporting and analysis for business units and advise managers where required to ensure sound financial management;
- Prepare business unit budgets and forecasts in liaison with managers where required;
- Carry out financial report-writing requirements for relevant departments;
- Monitor expenditure against budget and report on any deviances;
- Ensure that designated business unit/department(s) is complying with all financial processes and procedures;
- Investigate and resolve business unit/department financial queries;
- Operate as a strategic link between business unit leaders and finance;
- Responsible for business-unit internal and external audit interaction and query resolution;
- Review and/or complete and submit all general ledger reconciliations with supporting documentation;
- Prepare and review costing models and report variances;
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Education: B Com, CIMA or National diploma in accounting, cost and management, management, taxation, finance or internal auditing.
- Experience: 2-5 years’ relevant experience.
Technical Skills: Financial analysis experience;
- IFRS knowledge;
- VAT knowledge;
- Proficiency in all relevant software applications;
- High level of proficiency in spreadsheet application, and all financial software required for reporting purposes.

- Industry Experience: Experience in the Media industry and Advertising agencies will be to your advantage
