MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Matric/ Grade12 (NQF Level 4) Certificate. 1-2 years’ experience in Library environment
KNOWLEDGE
- Good communication Skill Computer literacy, politeness, patience attention to detail and time management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain records of users who have failed to return overdue books (defaulters). Receipting and reconciling payments made for copies, penalties and bookings for onward submission. Recording daily issue statistics and submission to Librarian.
- Ensuring that administrative procedures and reporting requirements are complied with in respect of the library activities.
- Conduct Outreach programmes, educating patrons of the library procedures.
- Creating and setting displays of the new books and disposing of old books, controlling the booking and utilization of activities room to students, community groups and making available and alerting users to specific conditions, attend regular book exchange by visiting KZN Library book depot.
- Communicating with the new and existing users, establishing the nature of enquiry, maintaining the computer database of user’s detail, attend to special request for specific library material, subject indexing of newspaper and magazines. Shelving books according to allocations, conduct stock count at the library arrange for book repair, replacing and cover from time to time.
