Job Role: 

  • The Junior Financial Analyst will support the Cellular (Airtime) team in analysing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in day-to-day operational requirements.
  • This position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in finance and gain valuable commercial experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities:

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results to forecasts and budgets.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
  • Determination of the key financial KPI’s

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Support the budgeting process by gathering data, inputting figures, and analyzing trends.
  • Assist in creating and updating financial forecasts based on current data and market trends that need to be communicated timeously with internal and external stakeholders.

Stock Management:

  • SKU availability and stock levels
  • Monthly stock reconciliations and stock ageing management

Data Collection and Management:

  • Gather financial and operational data from various departments and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets.

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct research on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor performance.
  • Assist in performing financial analysis related to specific projects or business initiatives.

Support Functions:

  • Provide support to financial analysts and finance managers/accountants as needed.
  • Assist in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis requests.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Commerce degree (BCom).
  • Eligible to register as a CA(SA)/newly qualified CA(SA) (advantageous).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ article experience (signed-off).
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in the latest Microsoft applications including Advanced Excel and PowerBI (preferred). 
  • Understand and develop pricing structures to enable maximum profitability through indexing interest rates payable, receivable, time value of money. 
  • Ability to present data and findings clearly and concisely.
