Job Description
- RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized and customer focused General Trade Specialist within the baking business unit.
- The suitable candidate will be responsible to drive bread sales growth in the general trade (GT) channel by managing and developing customer relationships, expanding sales, achieving volume, revenue and market share targets in assigned GT routes.
- This role will be based in Durban and reporting to the Regional Sales Manager.
- This role is a Permanent role.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Qualification
- Matric
- Diploma in Sales or Marketing
- Valid driver âs licence
- Minimum 3 yearsâ experience in a supervisory role in an FMCG general trade environment
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales target in a route to market model.
- Familiarity with informal retail environment and GT dynamics
- Ability to prioritize workload.
Experience and Training
- At least 3 Years GT sales supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG)
- Excellent Microsoft office skills
Duties & Responsibilities
Sales Execution
- Visit and service a defined call cycle of general trade outlets (spaza shops, tuck shops, local wholesalers).
- Sell the full range of bread SKU âs applicable for the channel
- Ensure product availability, correct pricing and price monitors are done.
- Increase sales across all routes.
- Identify and onboard new customers.
- Monitor competitor activity and provide market intelligence for strategic planning.
Order Management
- Ensure daily orders are reviewed, manage order frequency and follow-up on deliveries.
- Work closely with dispatch and distribution for accurate and timely deliveries.
- Manage returns, BOT and claims
- Track and report daily/weekly/monthly sales targets and KPI âs.
- Provide feedback on sales performance, customer issues and competitor movements.
Customer Relationship
- Build strong relationships with store owners.
- Educate customers on products, pricing and promotions.
- Handle service issues professionally and promptly.
- Design plans with customers to grow sales
Effective Teamwork and Self-Management
- Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritizing, and self- development.
- Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
- Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.
- Manage colleagues and employeesâ expectations and communicate appropriately.
- Demonstrate willingness to help others and âgo the extra mileâ to meet team targets and objectives.
