- To ensure product packaging is compliant to the Pick n Pay packaging guidelines and meet all relevant regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Food Technologist diploma, Packaging diploma or post graduate degree with 2-5 years experience in the relevant food related field
- Must be familiar with R146 Labelling act
- Must be familiar with the applicable regulations (DoH); Standards (SANS) and industry related guidelines
- Must be computer literate (MS Office Programmes)

Key Responsibilities
- Ensures that all Packaging timelines are met per project
- Packaging must comply to legal requirements and Pick Pay brand criteria
- Master packaging briefs to be checked and submitted to the Design team
- Packaging layouts to be checked and communicated to relevant parties
- Final packaging layouts to be approved
- Final printer proofs and Chromalins to be signed off
- Loading of artwork and printer proofs onto Sharepoint
- Building Supplier relationships & verifying suppliers’ adherence to regulations, standards and PnP requirements
- Effective management of packaging information Ensure that quality standards are being maintained at all stages of the supply chain
- Ensure that packaging remains up to date & relevant to industry and stay up to date with industry trends
- Search for improvement in order to achieve better results through new ideas, methods and approaches
