Job Description
- A well-established sportswear manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Floor Manager to lead their production floor in Randburg. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a deep understanding of garment manufacturing processes, particularly managing teams of seamstresses and overseeing line machinery. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving output, streamlining workflow, and ensuring that daily production targets are consistently met without compromising on quality. This is a strategic operational role requiring a balance of people management, process oversight, and production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the production floor
- Lead and support a team of approximately 20 seamstresses and machine operators
- Manage production timelines and ensure targets are met
- Monitor machinery usage and line efficiency
- Maintain high standards of product quality and workmanship
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and workflow issues
- Implement continuous improvements to boost output and team performance
- Report on production metrics and liaise with senior management
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in floor or production management within a clothing manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate production teams
- Solid understanding of garment construction, sewing techniques, and machine operation
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and team coordination
- Currently employed in a similar position, with a stable work history
