An accounting qualification is an advantage — but a proven financial background and processing expertise are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations & Processing
  • Oversee all daily, weekly, and monthly financial processing and reconciliations.
  • Manage the full month-end close process in Xero, ensuring accuracy across cost centres.
  • Maintain and reconcile supplier accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheets.
  • Prepare and review weekly payment schedules and assist with bi-monthly subtenant settlements.
  • Support treasury management and cash flow tracking, ensuring accurate forecasting and liquidity control.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and audit trails.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare weekly and monthly management reports, KPIs, and performance insights for both TOM Group and V&A Waterfront Holdings.
  • Assess Market performance against budget, forecast, and long-term goals.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and reforecasts in collaboration with key departments.
  • Provide regular analysis of revenue streams, costs, and profitability — proactively identifying opportunities for improvemen
  • Compliance & Audit
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and advisors as needed.
  • Oversee VAT submissions, statutory compliance, and reporting obligations.
  • Ensure adherence to TOM Group reporting standards and internal controls.
  • Systems & Integration
  • Manage the effective use of financial systems including Xero, Lightspeed POS, Marketman, and related reporting tools.
  • Partner with operations to drive process efficiency and automation across departments.

People & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the General Manager and TOM Group Finance to align on financial objectives and reporting.
  • Mentor and manage accounts staff, fostering accuracy, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure financial visibility and operational alignment.

Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • 4–7 years’ experience in financial operations, management accounting, or hospitality finance.
  • Proven hands-on experience with financial processing, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in Xero (or similar accounting systems), POS, and inventory management platforms.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and strong numerical accuracy
  • Solid understanding of management accounting principles and financial best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, integrity, and reliability under pressure.

Advantageous (Nice to Have):

  • Accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, SAIPA, or equivalent).
  • Experience within a hospitality or multi-venue environment.
  • Exposure to publicly listed or international group reporting structures.
