ABOUT THE ROLE:
- This role is a permanent full-time position.
- As an Engineer Structural, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the Hillside Aluminium Blueprint by providing specialised structural engineering technical expertise to the Operation and managing modifications and project tasks in accordance with relevant processes, standards and performance targets for HSEC, quality and cost.
- Provide specialised Structural Engineering support and expertise and contribute to the organisational direction by providing advice on business risks, technology and best practices.
- Conduct design, analysis, inspection, verification and remediation of new and existing structures (Steel and/or Concrete).
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Provision of relevant technical knowledge and input for the development of projects.
- Provision of relevant technical knowledge and support to the Maintenance and Engineering teams.
- Any Engineering services provided to the Operation meet relevant standards and are aligned to designed/agreed operating principles.
- Develop and maintain asset management plans for critical structural equipment and infrastructure
- Structural integrity management plan coordination and progression.
- Ensure compliance to relevant processes and standards, statutory legislation, and Industry regulations.
- Ensure content of technical documentation for the structural discipline reflects the “as built” condition as per authorized modifications and changes.
- Verify engineering contractors adhere to work standards and understand the purpose and functionality of critical controls relevant to their work.
- Promote discipline in engineering work, ensure quality of completed tasks and enhance technical knowledge of team members and other Engineering employees in regard to the structural and civil discipline.
- Remediate structural defects by preparing engineering designs and scopes of work.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in an applicable industry, in structural engineering;
- Project management experience;
- Knowledge of construction materials;
- Solid understanding of structural engineering requirements within a process plant environment;
- Proven experience in structural engineering design, inspection, and remediation;
- Strong knowledge of OHSA and other relevant structural engineering standards and regulations.
Qualifications for this role are:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with postgraduate qualification in structural Engineering;
- Post Graduate qualification in engineering/management will be advantageous.
