Job Advert Summary

• An opportunity has become available for a Diesel Mechanic responsible for the repairing and maintenance of all trucks, trailers, machines, motor vehicles, pumps, and generators. The Diesel Mechanic will also be responsible for safety checks.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified Artisan or 5 year recognized Apprentice
• Valid driver’s license, preferably EC
• At least 5 years’ experience

Duties & Responsibilities

• Service and repair of company vehicles to predefined checklists OEM standards and specifications
• Attend to breakdowns and carry out the necessary repairs on trucks, trailers and cane loading equipment
• Ensure vehicles are kept in line with legal requirements and company policies i.e. roadworthy etc.
• Administer regular reporting to first line management regarding breakdowns, service and parts usage
• Diagnose, identify and rectify mechanical problems on vehicles and equipment
• Apply Health & Safety rules and regulations in all aspects of job
• Maintain a safe and clean working place at all times
• Perform ancillary duties to the above as determined by management on an ongoing basis
• Ensure tools and equipment comply with safety policies and procedures
• Completing and ensuring job cards are completed according to policies and procedures
