Job Description
- Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Longmeadow has an opportunity available for a DC Dispatch Controller (Day Shift) to join the team.
Experience & Qualification:
Essential:
- Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate
- 2 Years relevant experience, in a Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment
Advantage:
- Supply-Chain or Logistics Degree or Diploma
Responsibilities:
- Remove stock from supplier delivery vehicle.
- Verify that all products/ items received are correctly allocated to the designated warehouse space
- Assist the Receiving Clerk to sort stock, in order to assist the checking process.
- Pack stock accurately and correctly into lugs or onto a pallet.
- Sort and pack different products and articles onto their own pallets, to facilitate checking in of goods.
- Identify any discrepancies occurring prior to the packing process such as damaged, misplaced goods, wrong
- labels and report the issues accordingly.
- Pack stock accurately and correctly into shelves or onto a pallet
- Apply a procedure of stock rotation when packing away stock (Earliest expiry date, to be picked first).
- Pack stock neatly and professionally as per Dis-Chem standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that components required to make up an article (e.g. first aid boxes) are removed from the correct bins
- and all required components are used to complete the article.
- Ensure that all articles are completely packed with all components required.
- Knowledge required:
- Knowledge of Distribution Centre, logistics and supply chain operations. Have knowledge of the business measures
- and targets, directly related to own role.
