Key areas of responsibility include:
- Transport Planning & Coordination
- Executes planning and scheduling vehicles/trucks for local deliveries.
- Monitor vehicle/truck routes
- Track shipments in real-time to ensure on-time delivery.
- Capture and verify transport data on the system (e.g., trip sheets, PODs, fuel usage).
- Escalate deviations (delays, breakdowns, compliance risks) to the Controller/Manager.
- Compliance & Safety
- Support adherence to company transport policies, SOPs, and safety standards.
- Report and document incidents and accidents.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, documentation, and operational updates.
- Liaise with internal departments (Finance, Warehousing) and external service providers.
- Provide support to clients on queries.
- On-time departure and delivery rate.
- Data accuracy on systems (trip sheets, PODs).
- Maintain and update the Combined Load Register daily to ensure accurate tracking of loads.
- Provide assistance during leave periods, ensuring responsibilities are managed effectively.
Qualifications
- Matric
- Degree/ Diploma in Logistics/ Transport Management (advantageous).
Experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in transport/ logistics environment
- Computer literacy (MS Office, transport management systems)
- Good analytical and numerical skills
