Responsibilities
- Develop and own the content strategy in alignment with organizational objectives, audience needs, and brand positioning across all platforms
- Plan and manage content calendars to ensure relevance, timeliness, and alignment with campaigns and programmes.
- Incorporate SEO, digital marketing, and analytics insights into content strategy to maximize reach and engagement.
- Lead content ideation and development across written, visual, and multimedia formats.
- Oversee and guide writers, designers, videographers, and external contributors.
- Ensure all content reflects brand tone, voice, and quality standards.
- Deliver content for digital platforms (web, social media, email, blogs) that is optimized for SEO and audience engagement.
- Manage the end-to-end content lifecycle: strategy, planning, production, distribution, and evaluation.
- Set timelines and ensure content is delivered on schedule to meet campaign and project milestones.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PR, Marketing, Digital, Programme/Portfolio leads) for consistent messaging.
- Define and track KPIs to measure content performance, including reach, engagement, and impact.
- Use analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEO dashboards, social insights) to assess effectiveness.
- Provide reports and recommendations to optimize content strategy and outputs.
- Capture lessons learned to refine storytelling approaches.
- Act as the content champion within the organization, driving a storytelling culture.
- Provide editorial oversight, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and alignment with organizational strategy.
- Manage content-related budgets across multi-team, resources, and vendor relationships.
- Mentor and support team members to strengthen content capability.
- Regular benchmarking against industry platforms using tools such as SEMrush
- Position content not only as marketing outputs but also as tools for influence and advocacy, contributing to thought leadership, donor visibility, and national conversations.
- Lead storytelling that elevates partners, funders, and communities alongside organizational activities.
- Ensure all content complies with regulatory requirements, surrogate marketing restrictions, and reputational safeguards.
- Take accountability for content risk management, ensuring 100% of outputs are cleared for regulatory and reputational risk before release.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field.
- 5+ years in content strategy, digital communications, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of social media and digital content trends.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), social media platforms, and analytics tools.
