ROLE SUMMARY:
- We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy Teacher to join our College team from January 2026. The successful candidate will inspire a love of learning, foster curiosity and critical thinking, and help students develop confidence in their mathematical understanding and application. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a collaborative academic culture within a global education network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy lessons that challenge and inspire students.
- Create a dynamic and supportive learning environment that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and academic excellence.
- Design and assess work that develops conceptual understanding and real-world application.
- Provide individualised academic support, feedback, and mentoring to students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and best practice across the department.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress, assessment, and reporting.
- Contribute to co-curricular and enrichment activities that extend learning beyond the classroom.
- Uphold the ethos and values of Reddam House and act as a positive ambassador for the school community.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A strong academic background in Mathematics or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification.
- Current SACE registration and legal eligibility to work in South Africa.
- Proven experience teaching Mathematics and/or Mathematical Literacy at College (Grades 10–12) level.
- A minimum of four years’ successful classroom experience within the IEB curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and the ability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm in learners.
- A reflective and innovative approach to teaching, with a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
- Proficiency in educational technology and its integration into teaching and learning.
- Strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset.
- A genuine passion for nurturing student development and encouraging a lifelong love of learning.
