Clinical Psychologist at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification preferably a Clinical Psychology Degree
• Current valid registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
• 35 years relevant experience
• Experience in culturally diverse communities
• PC Literate
• A valid driver’s licence
• Experience in primary health care services is desirable
• The position may require the successful candidate to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, depending on the needs of the clinic and the patients
• The successful candidate may be required to work at different clinics or community health facilities

Key Performance Areas

• Provides primary care mental health psychology interventions for patients in primary health care facilities (clinics) including diagnosis,counselling and therapeutic interventions(treatment)
• Participates in the clinic-based multidisciplinary team meetings around patients’ case reports
• Provides Interpersonal relationship management as a subject expert
• Project manages at clinic level the implementation of the mental health programme
• Conducts or participates in operational research that addresses gaps or challenges in mental health service delivery, client experience, or clinical outcomes.
• Completes administrative tasks related to job function
• Provides support for the mental health programme
