Job Purpose
- The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to perform and manage all aspects of varied innovative and complex engineering activities that result in progress in technology and engineering applications and provide strategic direction in the process. You will be required to deliver, oversee and assist in quality assurance of inception and designs of roads and highways comprising the provincial road network.
Minimum Requirements
- Engineering degree (B Eng/ BSC (Eng) or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering
- A minimum of six years post qualification experience required
- Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer
- A valid code B driving licence.

- Engineering design and analysis effectiveness: Perform final review and approvals or audits on new engineering designs according to design principles or theory; Maintain engineering operational effectiveness: Manage the execution of maintenance strategy through the provision of appropriate structures, systems and resources;

- Allocate, control, monitor and report on all resources; Financial Management: Ensure the availability and management of funds to meet the MTEF objectives within the engineering environment/services
- People management: Manage the development, motivation and utilization of human resources for the discipline to ensure competent knowledge base for the continued success of engineering services according to organizational needs and requirements.

Remuneration
- Grade A – All-inclusive salary package of R1 266 450 per annum (OSD as prescribed).
