Job Profile:
- To strengthen the business development and technology commercialisation functions of Necsa Group by providing business analysis, industry and market analysis, opportunity identification and business case development support, with a view to growing Necsa Group revenue and products and services portfolio for financial sustainability.
Key Performance Areas
Business, Industry and Market Landscape Analysis
- Liaise with business development and technology commercialisation specialists to determine industry and market information requirements
- Liaise closely with the Marketing and Sales department and Necsa Research and Innovation regarding progression of new products and services into the market
- Manage sourcing of market intelligence and market reports for various business development and technology initiatives
- Scan industry and market to evaluate demand and supply trends to identify business development opportunities and threats
- Keep abreast of and participate in industry and market matchmaking and networking platforms to identify new leads for funding, industry and market offtake partnerships
- Analyse developments on geopolitical, economic, social, technological, legislative and environmental landscape that can affect business development objectives and recommend responsive strategies
- Conduct business and market research using various methodologies, both in-house or contracted according to a brief outlining the required objectives and outcome of research;
- Analyse Necsa business environment against market developments and corporate plan to identify business risks
Business Development & Technology Opportunity Identification, Screening Evaluation, and Prioritisation
- Assist Business Development and Technology Commercialisation Specialists to identify, evaluate and prioritise business development opportunities, including initiatives for global partnerships such as Joint Ventures, Alliances and Mergers and Acquisition
- Assist with compilation of preliminary and bankable business cases for business development and technology projects
Funding Landscape Analysis
- Scan the funding landscape and assist in the development of a matrix of possible funders, their funding mandates, and relevant business development and technology pipeline opportunities
- Assist with compilation of preliminary and bankable business cases for business development and technology projects
Analyse opportunities for Strategic Partnerships for Business Development and technology projects
- Prepare a leads and deal flow register of potential industry and market access partners
- Identify complementary capabilities of potential industry partners, industry thought leaders, customers and other relevant stakeholders in support of business development objectives (e.g. government departments and agencies, regulatory and marketing authorities, industry organisations and associations)
- Prepare focused presentation and marketing materials for professional meetings, seminars and conferences.
Internal Stakeholder Relations
- Participate in internal collaboration forums (including, but not limited to, collaborations with the Marketing and Sales business units)
- Diligently engage and ensure good relations with other Necsa Group stakeholders in the business development lifecycle
- Advocate awareness of the role of Business Analysis function to various internal stakeholder platforms (including but not limited to colloquiums)

- Prepare and present budgets for business analysis activities in support of the role of

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education:
- BCom /BSc / B-Eng/B-Tech in Economics or Marketing.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience within Business Development Environment.
