Description 

  • Reporting to the Line Supervisor, this role is to ensure the line is always kept clean and neat and tidy by continuously removing any plastic or damaged packaging materials as well as the cleaning of floors and areas between equipment on the packaging line. When not cleaning, there should be assistance to pack on the line.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct cleaning procedures with appropriate materials and chemicals are followed to uphold food safety and health standards.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and hygiene on production lines and general areas.
  • Remove plastic and damaged packaging materials from production areas
  • Assist Line Support in deep cleaning of equipment as required.
  • Support packing activities on the production line when needed.
  • Wash, dry, and maintain HACCP coats according to hygiene protocols.
  • Replenish hand soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, hair nets, and beard nets as required.
  • Clean designated areas including entrances, offices, PPE rooms, and bottling areas according to specified protocols.
  • Report damages, leaks, and safety hazards promptly to supervisors.
  • Complete cleaning registers and equipment checklists accurately and on time.
  • Label and manage unlabeled buckets and flow bins; remove used branded buckets appropriately.
  • Ensure cleanliness of outside bottling sump areas to prevent contamination.

Health and Safety

  • Participate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks
  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings / committees / representatives / management
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
  • Attend safety education and refresher programmes
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures at Soill
  • Distribute safety information as and when required
  • Wear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times

Requirements
Qualification and Experience:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Fluent in English
  • Previous working experience on bottling line equipment advantageous
  • Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
