Artisan Rigger UG (REF: IVP -ENG-2520) at Ivanhoe Mines

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
• Relevant Trade Certificate
• First Aid Certificate is advantageous
• Fire Fighting courses are advantageous
• Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s license

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• 4 years’ relevant experience as a Rigger.
• Strong knowledge of mining operations and production processes.
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and protocols.

The Role requirements include, but not be limited to:

• Inspect and prepare loads that need to be moved.
• Conduct Rigging studies.
• Attaching loads to rigger to provide support.
• Maintenance on rigging equipment on stage.
• Issuing rigging equipment on miners.
• Maintenance of winder ropes.
• Monthly check.
• Set, align, and level heavy equipment machinery.
• Select the appropriate rigging gear.
• Prepare rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts.
• Monitor and maintain rigging equipment.
• Manoeuvre loads using heavy equipment and by hand.
• Ensure effective communication between rigging and construction team.
• Conduct post rigging inspections and breakdowns on rigging equipment.
• Inspect rigging before final use.
