- IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to develop this āmine of the futureā.
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12/NQF 4
- Relevant Trade Certificate
- First Aid Certificate is advantageous.
- Valid Code EB (08) Driverās license.
- Fault finding skills
Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a mining environment.
- Solid welding and mechanical experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Undertake cleaning, lubrication and preservation of machinery, vehicles, equipment, tools, workshop, tool room and yard area.
- Maintenance of mechanical or equipment on stage.
- Maintenance of de-watering system.
- Maintaining of winder and the headgear.
- General cleaning and removal of rust on parts and equipment.
- Ensures the proper use and care of equipment.
- Assist artisan when undertaking inspection, testing and repairs of lifting equipment and plant.
- Deliver and collect materials, spares, tools and machinery used in the fabrication and maintenance of equipment and plant.
