Artisan Electrician UG (REF: IVP-ENG-) at Ivanhoe Mines

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12/ NQF 4 or equivalent
• Trade Certificate
• First Aid Certificate is advantageous
• Fire Fighting course is advantageous
• Valid Code EB (08) Driver’s license

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in a mining environment. 
• Solid experience of power system protection is essential.
• Experience in switching LV, MV and HV systems is essential.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
• Electrical faults findings.
• Wiring of communication system.
• Maintaining transformers and motor control panel.
• Inspect transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
• Maintain heating and air conditioning systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Perform general electrical maintenance.
• Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans.
• Read technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures.
• Perform circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
