Artisan at Tshwane University of Technology

• The Department of Technical Services in the Directorate of Building and Estate seeks to appoint an Artisan responsible for providing an effective routine and breakdown plumbing maintenance service at the Campus. This is a one year fixed-term contract based at Giyani Campus.

INSTRUCTIONS:

• Applicants are required to submit together with the CVs, a standardized application form available from the university intranet as well as recently certified copies of qualifications and Identity Document. Failure to comply with this instruction will disqualify the candidate. Candidates may be subjected to appropriate psychometric testing and other selection instruments. Applicants who previously applied are encouraged to reapply.
• Kindly note that these positions are open exclusively to Limpopo Province residents therefore, applicants primarily residing in the said Province will be given priority.

Key performance areas/Core functions:

• To assist in preventative maintenance
• To assist in breakdown maintenance
• To assist in identifying and rectifying faults
• To provide reasonable knowledge of relevant OHS Act.

Academic Qualification:

• A relevant completed apprenticeship or a proof of passing trade test in terms of the provision of section 13 (2) of Manpower Training Act, 1981, as amended or a certicate issued under the provision of section 28 or 30 of the Manpower Act, 1981.

Experience:

• Two (2) years relevant experience as an electrical artisan.
