Description

  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of Safety, Health and Environmental Standards and Procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe work environment, free of any spillages or obstacles.
  • Conduct the lubrication of plant equipment.
  • Ensure all areas of work are kept clean during and after work has been completed.
  • Perform minor repairs or replacement tasks on plant equipment as instructed.
  • Assist in the preparation and development of items for repair, replacement, or modification.
  • Removal and disposing of waste and scrap items to the designated bins.
  • Always ensure good housekeeping in the relevant areas.
  • Assist in activities according to instruction of the Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Technician, or relevant Fitter.
  • Use tools and equipment provided to ensure the completion of any task.
  • Physically healthy and strong to work outdoors, in confined spaces, work at heights, work from ladders and scaffolding and in very hot or wet areas;
  • Move heavy equipment and materials;
  • Perform basic daily / weekly / monthly inspections on equipment in-line with the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Visual inspection of machines.
  • Possess the ability to work without supervision and function well as part of a team.
  • Crane and FLT licence would be an added advantage.

Requirements

  • To assist the Fitters in conducting various maintenance tasks in accordance to the company standards.
  • Grade 12, with Maths & Science /N3 /NQF4 (Mechanical)
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an Artisan Aid desired.
