MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  • Grade 12, Diploma / Degree in Finance. 2-3 years relevant experience. Valid Code B (08) driving licensing

KNOWLEDGE 

  • Good written and verbal skills. Be able to effectively calculate and reconcile customer accounts. 
  • Good organizational skills. Good time management skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Phoning customers on behalf of the municipality technology system (SAMRAS, GEO and Revenue Alert system). 
  • Checking and processing of outstanding accounts by comparing and updating data on the computer. 
  • Processing reminders / final reminder to facilitate arear payment. Monitoring Debt payment arrangements through consultation and negotiation with Debtors. 
  • Submitting relevant information with regards to staff account deduction in accordance to the Systems Act. Coordinate the implementation of disconnection. 
  • Handling over unpaid accounts to the attorneys for collections in compliance with ordinance.
  • Liaising with the attorneys on handed over accounts. 
  • Compiling list of writes off for irrecoverable debs and submitting for further processing. 
  • Help debtors to fill in indigent forms . Preparation and posting of journal to ensure the correctness of the debtors accounts. Providing general administration tasks and duties.
  • Referencing source documentation.
