SALARY : R582 444 per annum (SL 10)

REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade (12) certificate or equivalent plus National Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Law. Three (3) to Five (05) years’ relevant work experience in Monitoring and Oversight within the safety and security environment of which two (2) years must be at supervisory level. Valid Code EB (08) Driving License.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Extensive knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Safety and Security Policies, Transformation Policies, National Crime Prevention Strategy (NCPS)/Integrated Crimeand Violence Prevention Strategy (ICVPS), South African Police Service Policies, Performance and Resources Management. Knowledge of Civilian Secretariat for Police Service Act. Knowledge of Public Service Act and Regulations.

DUTIES:
- Civilian Oversight of the South African Police Service (SAPS): Supervise and conduct research and analyze data on Policing. Supervise and monitor transformation of the SAPS. Monitor SAPS infrastructure development plan. Receive and conduct investigation of service delivery related complaints.
- Conduct determination of Policing needs and priorities. Monitor SAPS compliance to Domestic Violence Act. Conduct oversight through Police Station visits, based on the implementation of the National Monitoring and Evaluation Tool.
- Monitor implementation of IPID Recommendations by the SAPS. Participate in the review of the Monitoring Tools, Frameworks, Guidelines and development of policies. Compile reports. Supervise key responsibilities of Subordinates. Management of Resources.
