Job Description
- Dis-Chem Pharmacies Distribution Centre in Longmeadow has an opportunity available for a DC Dispatch Clerk to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to maintain operational excellence within the Dispatch Department by performing clerical functions in the following areas – Marshalling and/ or Staging Dispatch, in order to meet both legal and customer requirements.
Minimum Requirements…
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Previous experience in Dispatch or in a similar role.
Advantageous:
- Supply-Chain or Logistics Degree or Diploma
Job Description:
- The core responsibility of a Dispatch clerk is scanning multiple boxes (Handling units) to a Shipment number (Pallet number) and achieving the required KPI’s (Key performance indicator) listed in the SOP (Standard operating procedure).
- Adhere to Good Warehousing Practises, SHE programme and Occupational Health and Safety act.
- Effectively and efficiently resolve internal and external day-to-day queries.
- Analyse and interpret any shrinkage indicators and act accordingly.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy is maintained during checking of completed warehouse orders and compare packed boxes to store invoice details.
- Ensure the vehicles are loaded with the correct quantity of boxes or parcels for the designated customer.
- Ensure that all cross dock and inter branch invoices are scanned according to invoice number and correct store.
