Purpose of Job

  • To test, troubleshoot, modify, and repair equipment, develop and execute equipment replacement plans, and provide practical technical support for production, research, operations, or programme administration efforts to maximise asset availability.

Key Accountabilities

  • Optimizes and control resources effectively.
  • Demonstrate safety consciousness at all times.
  • Achieve safety and risk objectives.
  • Ensure that work standards are met according to quantity and due dates.
  • Ensures that self and team meet targets, due dates and quality standards.
  • Support and facilitate in identifying and solving failures.
  • Facilitate the repair of pressurised systems through structural repairs,PRA’s and VRA’s.
  • Enable production plan for production unit.
  • Competent in meridium and formulation of maintenance strategies (RBI and RCM).
  • Plan and execute equipment replacement plans.
  • Ensure proper planning of work to be executed during normal maintenance, GO’s and shutdowns.
  • Implement and maintain critical systems to enable legal compliance i.e. spring hangers/supports, statutory equipment, RV’s etc.
  • Achieving delivery targets (e.g. tons, products, services; BU and Discipline Specific).
  • Deliver Production Volumes.
  • Enable production operations and make appropriate adjustments to deliver agreed volumes at optimal productivity and cost in time.
  • Ensure that work standards are met according to quality standards & compliance.
  • Gather information and accumulate data on instruction.
  • Quality results (agreed standards/compliance).
  • Awareness, focus and control of cost / budget.
  • Perform all tasks cost consciously.
  • Performs all tasks allocated (under supervision).
  • Demonstrate the desired behaviours in agreement with the Sasol Values.
