Medical Specialist- Paediatric at Gauteng Department of Health

Requirements :

• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist in Paediatric. Registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Paediatric.
• No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as Medical Specialist in Paediatric.

Duties :

• As a consultant, the candidate will be responsible for providing clinical service in the Paediatric department at CMJAH. Clinical duties include managing inpatient and outpatient in the Hospital including paediatric neurology patients.
• As consultant in the department, the incumbent will be required to supervise, registrars, medical officers, intern doctors and students in patient care and the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• The desired candidate will be required: To set an appropriate example of an exemplary medical practitioner and serve as a role model and clinical mentor to junior doctors (Registrars; medical officers and interns) and associated clinical staff
• To participate in the academic duties of the WITS school of medicine, Paediatric, and child health department. Performance of research and Supervision of MMed students.
• Training and supervision of Registrars, Medical Officers, Medical Interns and Medical students including tutorials, Teaching ward rounds and skills development. To provide medical support and guidance within a medical multidisciplinary team. This post has an opportunity to train in Paediatric neurology
