Job Description
- Contribute to all aspects of marketing activities, ensuring best practice marketing techniques, and communicating a clear promotional message.
- Work with Marketing Director and Marketing Lead to draft the marketing strategy and then implement accordingly.
- Create and issue promotional electronic newsletters (HTML & Text); implement A/B testing, measure effectiveness and adapt according to insights. Become an ‘expert’ in what constitutes an effective email campaign.
- Develop and implement social media content plan across products and channels aligned with overall marketing strategy.
- Maintain websites, apply SEO knowledge, and recommend ways to enhance user journey.
- Utilize and manage digital tools (i.e. mobile app, survey tool, GA4, Hubspot, GleanIn, Canva,Adobe Suite, etc) to enhance campaigns.
- Manage the sponsor and exhibitor promotional campaigns and contribute to campaign strategy.
- Collaborate with the Programming team to deliver speaker, advisory board and ambassador marketing promotional packs and follow-up.
- Support in briefing the design and production of delegate marketing materials, videos, banners, and emails.
- Marketing administration including proof reading, delivering advertising copy, responding to enquiries, monitoring competitor activity etc.
- Negotiate and fulfilment of barter details with appropriate media partners and associations, aligned to marketing and event strategy.
- Liaise with external suppliers (incl. PR companies, designers, online providers, digital agencies, data houses, registration companies, printers, photographers, videographers, mailing houses, etc).
- Support the implementation of research projects to review customer satisfaction and identify portfolio developments.
- Provide onsite support to ensure the smooth running of marketing related activity (i.e. Registration, press office, research, placement of branding and materials; sales stand).
- Assist in the delivery of all planned campaigns.
- Create tracking links and maintain tracking master files per project
- Assist in testing and monitoring active marketing programs with developing ways to improve those campaigns.
Qualifications
- Native French speaker – advantageous
- Tertiary qualification (Media, Marketing related).
- SA residence / visa and ability to work. We will not be able to relocate anyone (Cape Town specific)
- 2+ years in a marketing executive role ideally involving lead-generation.
- Experience in the use of databases in both mass and targeted direct marketing campaigns
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with and relate to all levels both within and outside the organization.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills.
- Strong attention to detail.

- HTML Proficient.
- HubSpot & Canva experience advantageous
