Introduction
- An opportunity has become available for a Refrigeration technician. The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance, repairs and installation of all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment respond to emergency calls for both SANBS and NBI.
Job description
Key Performance Areas:
- Undertakes the maintenance, repairs and installation of all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment respond emergency calls for both SANBS and NBI
- Undertakes the Repairs and Testing of Equipment
- Undertakes Routine Checks of Refrigeration Installations and Equipment for SANBS and NBI
- Undertakes Routine Maintenance and Repairs of Refrigeration and Equipment for SANBS and NBI
- Ensures that Tools are cleaned and maintained
- Ensures that Administration is undertaken effectively and efficiently

Minimum requirements
- Grade 12.
- Refrigeration Certificate.
- Driver’s License.
- Passed trade test Refrigeration.
- Registered Refrigeration Practitioner.
- Diploma in Refrigeration will be advantageous
Experience and knowledge requirements
- 5 years’ post qualification experience in refrigeration and airconditiong. Other (knowledge and skills), e.g. understanding of relevant legislation; knowledge of relevant company procedures.
- Understanding, knowledge and application of the relevant SANS legislation regarding HVAC &R industry.
- Knowledge of SHEQ regulations and legislation in the work area
Special Requirements:
- Overtime as and when required and travelling when necessary.
- Performing on call duties on a roster basis.
- Travel to various sites for planned and corrective maintenance.
