- BIOVAC is one of the leading sterile vaccine manufacturers rooted in Africa, with our core purpose being to “protect life”. We are looking to hire a dynamic, passionate, confident, proactive and meticulous Recruitment Officer to join a goal-oriented team on a 3 Year Fixed-Term Contract.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Human Resource and Industrial Psychology or equivalent
- Recognition is given to Prior Learning and practical experience
Experience needed to deliver the role seamlessly:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in recruitment or talent acquisition, preferably within a structured HR environment.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
- Exposure to recruitment administration
- Familiarity with local labour laws (e.g., South African Labour Relations Act, POPIA, EE Act) and regulatory requirements.
- Healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry experience is highly advantageous.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
Core Technical Delivery:
- Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and candidate profiles.
- Draft and publish job advertisements across various platforms.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and professional networks.
- Screen CVs and conduct initial interviews to assess candidate suitability.
- Coordinate interview schedules and communicate with candidates and hiring teams.
- Conduct reference checks and assist in offer negotiations and onboarding.
- Ensure job descriptions and selection criteria are inclusive and free from bias.
- Develop sourcing strategies to attract candidates from underrepresented groups.
- Monitor and report on recruitment metrics on a regular basis.
- Promote inclusive hiring practices and support internal DEI initiatives.
- Maintain and update the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) with candidate records and status updates.
- Ensure all recruitment documentation is complete, accurate, and stored securely.
- Prepare and submit recruitment-related reports and dashboards for management.
- Track recruitment progress against hiring targets and timelines.
- Coordinate pre-employment checks and ensure compliance with internal policies and labor laws.
- Compile and submit new hire documentation to payroll and HR teams within required timelines
- Knowledge of labour legislation (e.g. EEA, SDA, LRA, BCEA, POPIA) and compliance standards
- Drive employer branding and candidate engagement initiatives
- Manage vendor relationships (e.g., agencies, job boards, background check providers)
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready recruitment records
- Experience with recruitment marketing and employer branding tools
- Advanced sourcing techniques (LinkedIn Recruiter)
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, data protection regulations, and internal policies
- Recruitment analytics, metrics and dashboard reporting (Excel, Power BI, or HR analytics tools)
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and CRM tools
