Interior Design Graduates at Narrative 2018

The narrative is looking for two talented and enthusiastic interior decorating enthusiasts to run a décor advice column on social media for one of our retail DIY/home improvement clients.

The candidates need to be based in Cape Town, have their own transport and high-quality cellphone/camera for photography and be available to work 9 am to 5 pm three to four days a week including weekends.

Requirements

  • The ability to compile beautiful and stylish looks using our client’s products
  • The ability to understand and align décor advice and looks with our client’s defined target market
  • Excellent written English language and communication skills to convey and explain your décor advice
  • The ability to be quick thinking and energetically respond to customer requests for advice
  • The ability to work independently (you will be based at the client’s store)
  • A keen interest and knowledge of décor trends
  • Good photography skills (own camera/cell phone with a good camera)
  • An enthusiasm for and understanding of social media platforms

University Of KwaZulu-Natal Marketing And Social Internship

University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), are looking for vibrant interns to be part of their Marketing and Social Internship Programme.

Social Media: A high level of autonomy.

Manage and respond to all queries across UKZN social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.

This is to be done on a daily basis and during the course of the day.

Post a minimum of three interactive postings per day that encourage student engagement.

Ensure that the online feedback analytics platform for each social network is regularly visited in order to inform campaign activities moving forward.

This should be checked at least once a week. Manage the online reputation of UKZN on all levels in consultation with any of the Social Media Managers.

Ensure close coordination between all relevant departments such as marketing, publications, events– on a daily basis in order to craft textured campaigns.

Craft the full-year’s social media plan ensuring that it touches and is parallel to the marketing office’s objectives and builds UKZN as an institution of choice for students.

Draft reports on stats of each platform as and when required by Managers.

Set up campaign calendars, create monthly progress reports and campaign summary reports for major campaigns during the year.

Maximise online presence by implementing creative, strategic and tactical online marketing activities and graphics in order to leverage a higher level of interactivity for students and community members on our platforms.

Be aware of and be price sensitive to the overall marketing budget when planning prizes for competitions.

Monitor and engage, when necessary, in brand related online conversations.

Meet weekly with brand and public relations teams to discuss trends, postings, article reviews, etc.

Marketing & CRD: A lower level of autonomy

Be of general assistance to any unit within CRD, and have a keenness to learn and be of support if all daily activities relating to your core responsibilities are complete.

Work and shadow the Marketing Co-ordiantor/CRD official and assist with any requests that he/she may have along with taking initiative to identify gaps where you could be of assistance.

Document and keep careful records of all activities prior to handing over to the Marketing office on a monthly basis.

OUTPUTS

EXPECTED TASKS

  • Apply the principles of troubleshooting for a single user and multi-user transmission operating systems.
  • Ensure off-air is checked against MCR output, platforms include DTH SA & Africa, verify DTT and OTT off air via command center.
  • Ensure receipt, availability, test and execution of graphic elements as per DMS Scheduling requirements.
  • Ensure the Imagine automation system is set up and operated in order to deliver the correct program at intended date and time using keyboard functionality, direct access panel & other functions as described in the operational manual.
  • Identify audios when selecting incoming source as part of line up procedure.
  • Identify correct slug from quick turnaround server. Executing the quick turnaround of highlights packages using D-Series Automation
  • Identify resolution and aspect ratio when selecting incoming source as part of line up procedure.
  • Implemented broadcasting related solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Log on to respective software applications e.g. D-Series DAL Station Automation,E-sched, VX Panel, Xplora and Microsoft Office.
  • Monitor and check all video and associated audio feeds and escalate those which do not meet broadcast standards.
  • Operating broadcasting equipment in ARGUS Playout facility (SCCR and MCR)
  • Performing schedule downloads, editing of logs, verifying sources (associated audio and video), programming of sponsorship elements, EBR reporting and escalation procedures, sponsorship sign off and execution, follow up on an outstanding material.
  • Set up & prepare transmission equipment as per SMS (SuperSport Media Solutions) standards & specifications for all live events.
  • Execution of live events, communication with the production environment, TX reporting and escalation, sponsorship sign off and execution.

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1-year tertiary qualification in Media Studies, Broadcasting, IT, Audio Visual, Video Technology or any relevant NQF L5 qualification.
  • Candidates with 3-year tertiary qualifications in the above fields will have an advantage
  • Proficiency in English, spoken and written.
  • Computer Literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer, Google Chrome).
  • Knowledge of Television Operations will be an added advantage.
