Your Role

As Service Centre Engineer your responsibility will be to consistently represent the company in a positive and professional manner utilizing phone etiquette and being well spoken and presentable to manage the installation and repairs of Lab Water Systems in South Africa and Africa, by carrying out a pre-delivery inspection of the relevant machines, repairing and servicing existing Millipore water systems.

You will alsoServicing and repairing of water systems on site*, * immediate telephonic response to customer’s queries, being on stand by, 24/7, for clinical customers, servicing and repairing Merck Legacy instruments, and repairing and trouble shooting of spectrophotometers as well as technical training, validation and advance.

Customer’s orientation- all customers’ needs must come first and problems solved.

Technical Acuman

Attention to detail – Provides information and work on timely basis to others

Knowledge of products, service and business environment-Detailed knowledge of products (Merck- Millipore)how they used, relevant warranty periods, spares that would be required to service and maintain the products

Computer skills- Knowledge of how to use computer packages (Embrace) to check for stock and customer’s information.

Knowledge of processes, standards, policies and procedures – Business processes, performance standards, policies and procedures that apply in own job and local work area and their impact across the company.

Planning, Organizing and reporting – Anticipates obstacles realistically when planning. Keeps clear, detailed records of own or others activities related to the accomplishment of stated objective

Who you are:

Technical qualification in electronics or related field N6 Or Degree

3 years’ experience in Installing, repairing and maintaining electronic and electrical equipment, Doing trouble shooting and problem solving on electronic equipment, Providing technical advice to customers both electronically and through site visits and Technical experience (instrumentation)

Proactive with a high level of integrity, discretion and reliability

Have a valid drivers license

Be prepared to travel

Training will be provided at Millipore (France) whereafter the service engineer will write a test and a certificate of achievement is provided.
